LifeLabs hosts grand-opening ceremony for updated and accessible location in Burnaby

LifeLabs celebrated the opening of its newest collection centre in Burnaby, BC, during a special ribbon-cutting ceremony with Anne Kang, local MLA for Burnaby-Deer Lake and Parliamentary Secretary for Seniors.

“We are proud to support the residents of Burnaby,” said Jennifer Cudlipp, Senior Vice President, British Columbia at LifeLabs and President, Excelleris. “The growing population in this community brings a greater need for health care services and resources; we are pleased to work towards making these services more accessible and efficient for all residents.”

The new LifeLabs collection centre is one of six locations in Burnaby. Located near Central Park at 4250 Kingsway, it has been updated to meet the latest patient service standards and accessibility requirements.

Anne Kang, local MLA for Burnaby-Deer Lake and Parliamentary Secretary for Seniors, along with patients, employees and community members, were on hand to celebrate the relocation that will support the patient experience.

“Increased access to laboratories helps patients be diagnosed quickly and get the treatment they need to continue living healthy lives. This is even more important with the growing population in B.C., especially seniors,” said Anne Kang. “LifeLabs’ new, bigger centre in Burnaby will help people get the tests they need when they need them most.”

Aside from standard blood collection and specimen collection, the location also offers cardiology testing (electrocardiograms) and staff are trained to use specialty developed protocols to serve patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
