Amoxicilloyl and Ampicilloyl Allergens Reagent Recall

LifeLabs was recently notified of a reagent product recall regarding Amoxicilloyl and Ampicilloyl Allergens.  This recall was voluntarily initiated by the manufacturer. This letter is to inform you that orders for Amoxicilloyl and Ampicilloyl cannot be resulted by LifeLabs at this time.

LifeLabs does not recommend any suitable alternative method for IgE-mediated allergen detection for Amoxicilloyl or Ampicilloyl. It is recommended to use alternative allergy testing methods at this time (ie patient history, skin prick test, etc.).

There is currently no estimated date for resumption of service for these allergens. Please continue to monitor www.lifelabs.com for the latest information on this issue.

Finally, if you or your patient had Amoxicilloyl or Ampicilloyl testing between June 5th, 2017 and December 29th, 2017, the ordering physician has been contacted directly with details regarding amended patient reports. Please contact LifeLabs if you did not receive this information.

Sincerely,  LifeLabs
