Dr. Romina Reyes, MD, MSc, FRCPC, is the National Medical Director for LifeLabs.
In this role, Dr. Reyes leads the day-to-day medical operations in British Columbia, Ontario, and Saskatchewan, helps guide LifeLabs’ Medical Leadership, and works with all business areas to provide quality, accurate, and relevant diagnostic services. She also leads several external projects on behalf of LifeLabs with provincial health authorities.
Dr. Reyes received her medical degree from the University of British Columbia. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada with a specialty designation in Medical Microbiology.
She holds several appointments, including Chair of the BC Diagnostic Accreditation Program Committee, member of the BC Provincial Laboratory Medicine Services (PLMS), Executive Committee and Member of the Mycology and Parasitology committees for Clinical Microbiology Proficiency Testing (CMPT).
Dr. Reyes maintains an active teaching role as an Associate Clinical Professor with the University of British Columbia (UBC) within the Department of Medicine and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. She lectures in the Undergraduate Medical School and the postgraduate residency program.
