Dr. Huda Almohri, MD, FRCPC, joined LifeLabs as a Medical Microbiologist in 2008 and has since advanced into several leadership roles, including her current position of Clinical Director, Microbiology for Ontario.
During her time at LifeLabs, Dr. Almohri has led many innovative and groundbreaking initiatives, including implementing the first fully automated lab in Canada.
Dr. Almohri earned her medical degree from Sultan Qaboos University in 1999 before completing residencies in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases at McGill University and Medical Microbiology at the University of Toronto. She holds certifications from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine (2005), Infectious Diseases (2006), and Medical Microbiology (2007). She is also certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases.
Committed to lifelong learning, Dr. Almohri has pursued additional training to deepen her expertise. She completed the International Inter-Professional Wound Care Certificate (IIWCC) from the University of Toronto Dalla Lana School of Public Health and Women’s College Hospital (2009–2010), earned a Certificate in Laboratory Quality Management from the University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine (2009), received a Master’s Certificate in Health Care Management from the Schulich School of Business at York University (2015), and most recently obtained a Professional Diploma in Dermatology from the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (2025).
Outside of her role at LifeLabs, Dr. Almohri is an Assistant Clinical professor at McMaster University Health Sciences, and a member of the American Society of Microbiology (ASM), European Society of Clinical Microbiology, and Infectious Diseases ESCMID.
