COVID-19 Home PCR Kits

The ClearPassTM COVID-19 home PCR kit allows individuals to self-collect a swab sample from the comfort of their home with no doctor visit required. This test detects an active infection for all COVID-19 variants.

This service is ideal for individuals who were recently exposed to COVID-19, are experiencing symptoms, or interact with vulnerable people. It’s a convenient service that allows you to self-collect a PCR sample from the comfort of your home.

This self-collection kit is $100 plus tax and is available for purchase in British Columbia and Ontario. All sales are final.

Orders placed by 2 PM EST Monday-Friday will be delivered by FedEx® the next business day.

IMPORTANT: This test does not meet travel clearance requirements. If you plan to travel outside of Canada, click here to purchase a FlyClearTM pre-departure test.

Step 1: Create and verify your account

The ClearPassTM web app is operated by Thrive Health and can be used on mobile or desktop.  To get started, please select which province you live in:

Follow the steps on the ClearPassTM web app to create your profile and verify your account.

After verifying your account, confirm the registration code displayed matches your province:

Ontario Residents: “ONHOMEPCR-NonTravel”
British Columbia Residents: “BCHOMEPCR-NonTravel”

Continue to setup your profile to complete your registration.

Step 2: Purchase PCR self-collection kit

Once registration is completed, you will be on the home screen.  In order to purchase the kit, you need to complete the following steps. 

  1. Click on “View your connected organizations”
  2. Click “ClearPass PCR at Home – Non-Travel”
  3. Click “Shop”
  4. Click “COVID-19 PCR Self-Collection Kit: Non-Travel”
  5. Review the details of the kit and complete the purchase process

All orders placed by 2 PM EST Monday-Friday will be delivered by FedEx® the next business day. Delivery may take longer for addresses in remote areas and LifeLabs® does not provide any guarantee for delivery timelines. Click here to learn more.

Step 3: Self-collect your sample

Follow the collection and packaging instructions provided in your Home PCR Self-Collection Kit.  The step-by-step instructions will guide you through the self-collection process.

Note: In order to receive reliable test results, please follow the instructions carefully.

Step 4: Drop off kit

You can drop off your sample at any LifeLabs® Patient Service Centre on the same day or the day after you self-collect it. Click here to find a location near you.

You have the option to return the sample to LifeLabs® using FedEx®. You are responsible for paying the shipping costs. Click here for details.

Step 5: Obtain your Results​

LifeLabs aims to make your results available to you within 24 hours of your sample collection. When your results are ready you will receive an email containing a secure link to your results in the ClearPass web app.

  • To access test results, please login to your ClearPass account at https://my.thrive.health on a desktop or mobile device with the username and password you created
  • The results will be displayed after clicking on “View results” or clicking on “Test Result” under the heading “COVID-19 Tests”
  • Click on “Download results PDF” found at the bottom of the page under the “Documents” heading

If more than 48 hours have passed since your sample was received by LifeLabs and your results are not available in the ClearPass web app, please contact LifeLabs at clearpass@lifelabs.com
