2

Have your healthcare provider complete and sign the requisition

3

Complete payment and sample collection

4

Get your results

Step 1

Meet with your healthcare provider

Meet with your healthcare provider and discuss if Mycoplasma genitalium testing is right for you.

Step 2

Have your healthcare provider complete and sign the requisition

Your healthcare provider will write “Mycoplasma genitalium NAAT or Mycoplasma genitalium NAAT - urine” in the “Other Tests” section of the requisition form and sign the requisition. Requisitions not signed by a healthcare provider will not be processed and our staff will not be able to collect the sample(s).

Step 3

Complete payment and sample collection

For Mycoplasma genitalium, you have two options for sample collection.

Option 1: Urine collection at LifeLabs Patient Service Centre (PSC)

Please arrive to a LifeLabs PSC with a signed requisition form with the test “Mycoplasma genitalium NAAT - urine” written in the “Other Tests” section. Our staff will collect payment and provide a container for sample collection when you arrive at a LifeLabs patient service centre (PSC) with the signed requisition.

For your convenience and to reduce wait times we recommend booking an appointment. You must bring the requisition signed by your healthcare provider to LifeLabs in order for us to process your test.

Option 2: Swab (cervical, vaginal, urethral, or meatal) at your clinic

You can have your sample collected at your healthcare providers clinic. You will be provided with a signed requisition with the test “Mycoplasma genitalium NAAT” written in the “Other Tests” section, and directed to visit a LifeLabs PSC for payment and sample drop-off.

Step 4

Get your results

Your test results will be sent directly to your healthcare provider. Most test results will be reported to your physician/healthcare provider within 10 business days of sample collection.
