When to Collect & How Much to Collect
Each collection should be a MINIMUM of 3 hours apart. Plan your collection schedule to ensure all samples can be collected within a single day, within a single day (i.e., over one sleep/wake cycle).

TUBE 1 (3 mL Saliva)
30 minutes after waking up

TUBE 2 (3 mL Saliva)
At Noon (Mid-Day)

TUBE 3 (3 mL Saliva)
Evening

TUBE 4 (3 mL Saliva)
30 minutes prior to bedtime
Instructions

- Rinse your mouth with water 5 minutes prior to collection. Wash and dry hands thoroughly.

- Open the kit and retrieve ONLY one collection tube. Unscrew the cap on the collection tube and start collecting saliva.
- Fill the tube with 3mL of saliva.
Bubbles do not count towards the amount of saliva you collect. - If bubbles appear, secure cap and tap down tube to remove bubbles and continue to fill tuber with saliva until you collect 3mL.

- Secure cap on tube and tighten.

- Clearly fill in your day and time of sample collection on the provided label and affix it to the sample tube.
- Label #1 on first sample, Label #2 on second sample, etc.

- Place tube in ziptop bag provided, keeping absorbent strip in the bag. After collecting the sample store the sample in the freezer if not mailing within 2-3 days.
- Submit samples as soon as possible.

- Repeat steps throughout the day until you have collected all four samples.
Checklist
Are you ready to ship your samples for testing?
Are all sample tubes tightly closed, and a label including collection date and time added?
Have you collected saliva in all four tubes, within a single day (i.e., over one sleep/wake cycle)?
Are all four tubes and the absorbent material sealed in the ziptop bag, and have been frozen?
Is the test request form filled out?
Returning the Sample

- Complete all sections on the request form with a blue heading.

- Place your request form and bagged sample back into the kit box and put the box into the pre-paid Canada Post polymailer.

- Add your address to the prepaid label and attach to the package.

- Go to www.canadapost.ca to find a Canada Post store to drop off your package or drop off your package at the closest LifeLabs location.
