Until recently, COVID-19 safety protocols prevented the use of breath tests. However, we have now reached a point where LifeLabs can safely reintroduce a number of its tests that were paused during the pandemic, and offer our customers important services that are aligned with their health care needs. 

Before ordering this test, please ensure the patient is not allergic to citric acid and that they can meet the fasting criteria: patients must not eat or smoke 4 hours before the test, and they cannot have any fluids for one hour prior to the test. In addition, we can only complete this test on patients 6-years of age and older.

Please note the H. pylori breath test is not insured in Ontario, and must be paid privately at a cost of $100.
