Dr. Feltis is the Ontario Medical Director at LifeLabs and is responsible for the supervision and provision of Medical Scientific services in Ontario and supporting the overall Quality Management System in partnership with Quality and Regulatory Affairs. His role also includes collaborating across the organization to provide up to date medical/scientific information to provide and expand laboratory services across the province. As a general pathologist, he provides both surgical pathology and hematopathology. Dr. Feltis’s association with LifeLabs reaches back over 30 years to when he was a consultant with MDS Laboratories (now LifeLabs) and then the Chief Medical Officer for CML Healthcare.
Dr. Feltis obtained a medical degree from Queen’s University and then completed his residency in General Pathology at Queen’s and at Kingston General Hospital. After completing a one-year fellowship in Renal Pathology at the School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, Dr. Feltis served as Staff Pathologist at Kingston General Hospital from 1982-85. In late 1985, he moved to the Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga where he remained and subsequently served Chief of Laboratory Medicine until 2013. Dr. Feltis also spent over 30 years of his career as a staff pathologist at Ontario Forensic Pathology Services.
