Dr. Don-Wauchope joined LifeLabs as the Vice President Clinical Services in 2016. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, he leads the Medical Scientific and Quality teams on a national basis. As a laboratory physician practising as a medical biochemist, Dr. Don-Wauchope’s clinical laboratory expertise is focused on the measurement of all items related to the endocrine system. In addition to his role at LifeLabs, Dr. Don-Wauchope maintains a clinical practice at the Hamilton General Hospital and holds a university appointment with Pathology and Molecular Medicine at McMaster University with an associate appointment in Internal Medicine (Division of Endocrinology).

Dr. Don-Wauchope obtained his medical degree from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa, Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland and fellowships from the South African College of Medicine, the Royal College of Pathologists and the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. Dr. Don-Wauchope is actively involved with a number of national and international organizations including, chairing the Institute for Quality Management in Healthcare Endocrinology and Immunology committee, a member of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry Evidence Based Medicine Committee, the American Association for Clinical Chemistry Core Education Committee and the Canadian Association of Medical Biochemistry Choosing Wisely committee. Dr. Don-Wauchope has a research interest in laboratory utilisation and has published more than 50 peer reviewed papers.
