Report to the Community released highlighting community partnerships, value for our customers, supporting our employees and our pursuit of excellence and innovation.

Toronto, ON – May 3, 2017 – LifeLabs, Canada's largest medical laboratory, celebrated their 5,400 employees and the medical laboratory industry during National Medical Laboratory Week (NMLW), April 17 – 21st, demonstrating there's a lot for the company to be proud of. NMLW is an annual celebration to raise awareness about the important work done in medical laboratories and the professionals who do it. Medical lab work is a critical component to Canadians wellbeing contributing to 70% of healthcare decisions made based on diagnostic results. This year during NMLW LifeLabs celebrated achievements of their dynamic employees through a series of activities and awarded 30 employee-nominated employees for going 'Above and Beyond' in the work place.

"Our employees are what make the work we do at LifeLabs possible," says Sue Paish, CEO of LifeLabs. "They work tirelessly each day ensuring our customers and their healthcare providers receive care and services in a timely manner to aid correct diagnosis. I am proud of what we do every day in the communities across Canada."

Each year LifeLabs employees serve an estimate of over 20 million patient visits and deliver over 110 million laboratory tests, which could not be made possible without the expertise and dedication of trained medical laboratory professionals. As a team, LifeLabs has accomplished astonishing things, such as; pioneering new tests that address new and pressing health issues, like providing advanced drug screenings to aid the concerning fentanyl crisis, or, developing new partnerships to bring innovative testing to Canadians, like genetic screenings for new parents with the Counsyl Family Prep Screen. With their dedicated staff, LifeLabs continues to set the standards for medical laboratories across Canada.
