Return of completed Colon Cancer Check FOBT Kits
Monday, July 11, 2016 – Labour negotiations continue between Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers. In the event of a postal disruption, patients who have been provided with an FOBT kit for testing will not be able to return the completed kit by mail.
In the event of a postal disruption, patients should:
· Drop off the kit at any LifeLabs Patient Service Centre (a list of locations can be found at www.LifeLabs.com) OR
· Return the kit to their healthcare provider’s office for pick-up by their regularly scheduled LifeLabs courier (if this applies)
Patients in remote locations with no convenient drop-off location (either at a Patient Service Centre or their healthcare provider’s office) should wait until the postal disruption is resolved before completing the FOBT kit. Patients can learn more at the Cancer Care Ontario website: www.cancercare.on.ca.
During a postal disruption, LifeLabs will continue to process completed FOBT kits and will ensure healthcare providers continue to receive notification of their patients’ colorectal screening results.
