About the LifeLabs Healthcare Providers Conference

LifeLabs’ Medical Scientific Team will host the LifeLabs Healthcare Providers Conference (HPC) in Ontario at the Toronto Congress Centre on Saturday, October 27, 2018.

Come and meet LifeLabs’ new President and CEO, Charles Brown, Chief Operating Officer, Pierre Bou-Mansour, members of the Medical Scientific Team and Ontario Medical Director, Dr. Tim Feltis.

The HPC is a free educational conference with the mission of bridging the gap between laboratory medicine and clinical practice. Through the exploration of today’s pressing topics in relation to laboratory medicine, healthcare providers such as physicians, naturopathic doctors, and nurse practitioners will gain a better understanding as to how we can work together in building a healthier Canada.

Registration is free and attendees are eligible for partial Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits.

Dr. Monika Winnicki and Dr. S. Sade will speak on the clinical and pathologic features of common dermatological problems.

Keynote Speakers

Monika Winnicki BSc, MD, FRCPC

Dr. Monika Winnicki is a dermatologist in the Toronto area in private practice as well as a skin cancer specialist at the Skin Cancer clinic at the Odette Cancer Centre at Sunnybrook Hospital.

She graduated from medical school at the University of Western Ontario in 2004 and Dermatology residency at the University of Toronto in 2010. She has focused her dermatologic career on the treatment of skin cancer as well as medical, pediatric and vulvar dermatology. At

Sunnybrook Hospital, she is an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team of physicians in the Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer Clinic. At her private practice, she enjoys treating patients of all ages for a vast variety of dermatologic diseases. Through her work, she hopes to improve care for female patients suffering from often debilitating vulvar skin diseases.

Dr. Winnicki enjoys working with and speaking to her inter-disciplinary colleagues including previous presentations to family doctors and otolaryngologists.

Dr. Shachar Sade

Dr. Shachar Sade is a consultant dermatopathologist at LifeLabs laboratories and Director of dermatopathology services at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre as well as a member of the melanoma site group at the Odette Cancer Centre. Dr. Sade completed his undergraduate medical training at Western University and his residency training in Anatomical Pathology at McGill University prior to fellowship training in Dermatopathology at the University of Toronto. Dr. Sade is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and actively participates in medical education. He has recently completed his term as Residency Program Director of Anatomical Pathology and Director of Post-Graduate Education in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology at the University of Toronto. Dr. Sade’ s research interests include translational studies in melanoma, skin lymphoma and other cutaneous malignancies.
